Master Code Vessels Less Than 200 GT

The Master 200 / OOW (Yachts) 500 CoC is not a mandatory qualification, but a voluntary upgrade path for skippers operating with Royal Yachting Association (RYA) or International Yacht Training (IYT) qualifications which may not be recognised by overseas administrations. It is a requirement for working in certain industries or on certain types of vessel, however, and it will allow you to command any vessel under 200GT.

There are two versions of the Master 200 certificate, Limited (Operating up to 150NM from a safe haven) and Unlimited.

Following a succesful oral examination the award of a Master 200, either limited or unlimited, automatically includes the OOW (Yachts)  less than 500GT CoC.
